Big Mountain

It's pretty surreal to think that moving here had a lot to do with the Tommy Moe
Watching him the 94 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer Norway.
I just knew
 and well
here I am.

You can never be too early to get your ski season pass.
We did so the other weekend- and it still warm in the air with beautiful sunshine
took the kids to the top of Big Mountain
Getting giddy for the snow to fly
...nothing get's you in the spirit with runs like
HELL FIRE
This is the back side of the mountain where they are working on more runs and new lifts.

In summer folks can enjoy the trails for either hiking or biking
- you can load you bike on the lift and ride down.

Front side.
Views for days over Flathead valley
I live right underneath the mountain on the left
Stacked and ready
waiting for the season
Bike trails
Descending
an amazing view over Whitefish Lake
and the valley below.
And back down at the base
Counting down the days....

One’s home is like a delicious piece of pie you order in a restaurant on a country road one cozy evening
— the best piece of pie you have ever eaten in your life —
and can never find again.
After you leave home,
you may find yourself feeling homesick,
even if you have a new home that has nicer wallpaper and a more efficient dishwasher
than the home in which you grew up.

I feel the need...the need for SPEED

Once in a while some really crazy amazing wonderful things happen here in Montucky
this is the one that I look forward too.
The mountain air show.
One of the pilots is a local and from Kalispell.
My last year of high school I lived in Coronado Ca.
Top Gun was being filmed on the Navy base on the island-
we were sometimes lucky to catch a glimpse of Tom Cruise
I later went to interior design school right next to MiraMar Air Force Base
where the F-16 were doing maneuvers.
The Thunder Birds are here in the valley performing during labor day -
lucky me I live in their air space.
Flying right by the mountains that surround us
Yeah!
 flying OVER my house
I get goose bumps my heart races when I see and hear the aircrafts.
There is something so powerful .
I have stood in my horse pasture applauding and cheering them on for days each time the fly over
I'm hoping dad is watching them from heaven- a different perspective than mine.
He loved airplanes and spent most of his life up in the air flying.
The kids get dislike the loud thunder as they brake the sound barrier

Chef is a retired Reconnaissance Marine
 gets a little emotional ...

~ HEART~

...but I get a little wild and crazy with all the noise and speed it is just so cool!
I think it is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful

~ Up there with the best of the best.
