Lettuce is like conversation; it must be fresh and crisp,
so sparkling that you scarcely notice the bitter in it.

and add cold boiled potatoes (yes, I am from Norway) got have them
tomatoes, olives, carrots, onions, fresh herbs loads of garlic, cheese bread etc...you get the idea
what ever is handy
Romaine is the lettuce of day
washed and cut in quarters
croutons
made from any kind of bread
add a few table spoon olive oil and butter to a the cut bread in a big bowl
salt + pepper
Italian herbs
swish it around
spread on baking sheet in 375 F oven for 10 min - until golden
added artichokes, olives and other Italian goodies
Piled it all up on the lettuce quarter with a ranch dressing
served with a glass of very chilled Sauvignon Blanc

ReplyDeleteCold potatoes huh? My great grandfather was from Ireland [Dewey Dunaway was his name] so
I think that is were my fondness for potatoes comes from and while I eat a salad every day I never
once thought to add potatoes to it. You are a dear for inspiring me, thank you.
Have the best day!
I'm gonna try the potatoes, I love them in any shape or form but never tried them on a salad. I'm crazy hungry right now after this post and it's still morning! Lovely photos :)
ReplyDeleteI love cold potatoes :) I always used to grab the leftovers in the fridge as a kid and my dad would wonder where they all went. Never thought to add them to a salad, might have to try. Your salad looks delicious. Enjoy your weekend.
