Country

Ironically, rural America has become viewed by a growing number of Americans
as having a higher quality of life not because of what it has,
but rather because of what it does not have!
~Don A. Dillman

Sunday walk with chef
rain jackets, muck boots
our faces wet with rain
 its refreshing and heart opening

  on this familiar dirt road
the spring rain and cold air makes me feel alive

 few words are spoken
my hand fits perfectly in his
 it's peaceful and serene
enjoying what nature is offering today

grateful to live here in the country
walking with the one I love

It is not easy to walk alone in the country without musing upon something.
~Charles Dickens

  1. I love that quote by Dillman. That's why I live in the country - to get away from the traffic, people, stores, man-made noise & fields asphalt.

  9. Cold, rain and mud, are not things that make you happy.
But if you are walking hand in hand with your great love, the world looks more beautiful.
    Love it!!!

  11. Love the photos, it is just so nice to see open spaces. Although I do not live rural (I'm actually squished in a town house), my wife and I moved back to our hometown after University because it is a town, not a big city. There are farms and forests only a few kilometers away.
