Sorry I can't take myself serious
Yep you guessed it- happy I finished my hat
A solid skein of brown and one of my hand dyed self striping skeins
to create the fair isle pattern.
I thought this would be a neat experiment instead of using several skeins
to create the colorful pattern
Kelly informed me that is called "fake fair isle" .

ReplyDeletelove the hat and love you!! I hope to visit your shop sometime next week :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic!!!!! I love it! Such beauty. You fit in perfectly with your inspiring surroundings.
ReplyDeleteFake sounds like the way to go for me--so glad you knit this up! I will definitely be shopping this Friday. Your photo session for this post looks eerily similar to my daughter's photo sess yesterday for mine, lol. Maybe you two are kindred spirits...several years & miles apart. ;)
...too funny Ruby, yeah I'm eleven. Your daughter and I would get along super.
DeleteLove the hat. The wool I am using at the moment is faux fairisle too!
ReplyDeleteTotally awesome! You look perfectly smashing in it. Love that last shot - gorgeous. I think we need to come up with a different term for the Fair Isle... your knitting + your yarn is anything but fake. Can't wait for Friday!!!! Have a wonderful day Camilla :) xo
ReplyDeleteOoo - the hat turned out great! I love those colors together. I knit a fake fair isle hat using a striping orange/red yarn with a natural off-white color as the base. I really like how that turned out too. Yours is a bit more rich and warm - perfect for fall.
ReplyDeleteCUTE!! I'm scared of working two yarns at the same time. You make it look easy with your beautiful smooth stitches.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! And your face is priceless :-)
ReplyDeleteThe hat is beautiful and it looks great on you! Can't wait until the shop opens! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I think I would like to try a faux fair isle!
