New Mexico
untamed and a force to reckon with
open and raw
the skies are as big as home.
There is something wild about this landscape
untouched, undefined and unrefined
it makes me feel small
a space that lets my thoughts move freely in and out as they appear
not sure what to expect from this vastness
eager to explore
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Welcome home and I hope you had a fabulous time. I haven't been to NM since my parents lived there, it's such a great state.
ReplyDeletedid you get to taos??
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, just stunning! Hope you had a lovely time. Enjoy being home again :)
ReplyDeleteNice pictorial tour. New Mexico and Arizona are one of those places I'd like to drive through one day. I read a lot of westerns, Louis L'Amour and such, that paint such a great picture of the land in my mind...and have always had a fascination with barren places like the desert or the arctic.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful landscape! The mountains remind me of our tip last summer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place, those skies are stunning. Hope you had a lovely trip but are also glad to be home too!
ReplyDeleteRiding along..like a..tumbling tumbleweed...(cowboy song)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Camilla! I hope you've had a lovely, magical time away. One of the things that I love most about travelling is discovering a landscape's own unique and often shifting colour palette. I love New Mexico's pale yellow-green grasses, browns, greys and blues as seen through your eyes. Thank you so much for sharing a glimpse into your trip! xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow... how wonderful to find such spectacular vastness to feel small in !!! Have fun exploring...
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having too much fun as if there was ever such a thing! Love seeing the different landscape :)
ReplyDeleteThe vastness of New Mexico can make one feel very small. I think that is the brilliance of it. So much raw, unspoiled landscape. It is easy to see why so many artists paint it's beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, it looks like an amazing space to explore. Have fun in your travels!
ReplyDeleteoh wow, your photos are so amazing! I feel like you could do a lot of big picture, clear thinking in a landscape like that. I hope it's been an amazing time for you.
ReplyDeleteOmg words and pictures: stunning! Xxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I haven't been there in years and it's right next door yet so different from AZ. You asked if I liked my new lens, the Sigma 150-500. Yes, very much, especially for birds. About half of those shots in the post you were referring to were taken with my Nikkor 18-300mm, though, which is much better for closeups like butterflies and flowers and also landscapes. But, for birds, the Sigma rocks!
