What do you do when one day your loved one is there and the next day they're not ...and how do you feel when that the someone who past away was not a human but a horse?
Miss B was 18 year old quarter horse and was an incredible cutting horse, she past away Tuesday afternoon- it was an unexpected death. She died with the whole herd of horses watching over her- horses do that. They were all with her standing around her- saying their good- byes. Miss B gave so many people so much- her heart and spirit was a gentle one. As if she said- hop on I know what to do I'll take care of you, she knew you were smiling when your rode, Miss B made you feel invincible.
I learned to get back up in the saddle after my horrible accident many moons ago with Miss B- she helped me over come my fear, I now ride 1500 lbs Frisian every day as if I am eating yogurt- easy.
My mother is 78- hadn't ridden for almost 20 years...look who got back in the saddle and was giggling like a school girl...yep, that's mamma having a lesson with Miss B- she rode her every time she was visiting.I learned to get back up in the saddle after my horrible accident many moons ago with Miss B- she helped me over come my fear, I now ride 1500 lbs Frisian every day as if I am eating yogurt- easy.
How do you say good- bye to something so special and precious? My heart is heavy and I am filled with grief- only to be so very grateful I had the opportunity to be with this gentle and loving horse. My heart goes out to my amazing trainer and friend Stephanie and her father John during this terrible loss.
Dear miss B - you will sorely be missed- we love you so. I have a feeling you get extra carrots in heaven.
Much love to you Camilla as you say goodbye to a dear friend. I do understand that hurt and I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Miss B. Our animal companions leave such a special mark on our lives. It doesn't seem fair that they don't live as long as humans.
ReplyDeleteI am so sad you lost a faithful friend, she sounds amazing and even though goodbye is hard, you wrote a touching tribute about her.

ReplyDeleteOh that is so sad. I know how hard it is. I like to think my pony is practicing her barrel racing up in Heaven so when I get there I can get right back in the saddle.
